First Half:

Asian countries were the ones dominating the trade and the Europeans were the ones paying the taxes on the goods they consumed. The Duch East Indian companies began establishing themselves in Taiwan, hoping to produce trade. The Spanish people, back then, contested the Portuguese position as trading spices too gain more access to the trade and money.
