Because the fur was becoming really popular to buy and trade in American the environment costs were paid later on. Also the Americans and the Europeans being in contact constantly, the spread of diseases was facilitated, and that became very detrimental to the natives. And the slave trade was also effecting the African continent and the African community negatively.
