What do you know about founders week?
Founder’s Week is the oldest and largest free Bible conference in the country, with
morning sessions on Moody Bible Institute’s Chicago campus and evening sessions at
The Moody Church.
What was the reading for today about?
The reading of today was about the life of two different people, Julie Billiart and Francoise Blin.
Starting with their background, early life and education until their meet in Amines.
Which one did you find most interesting?
Julie because of her live changing situation. That after this happened she changed everything that
she was doing and focused on helping people.
Which one could you relate to and why?
The one I could relate to the most was Julie because of my position in life was really hard when I
was young but things turned out better as I grew up and now I have a different look at society
compared to the people in the same social position as me.
Compare the educational background of these two women?
Francoise went to an elite boarding school during the summer months starting at the age
of six, when her grandparents decided that keeping her at home during their social
season was not good for her development. In childhood rounds with her grandmother,
when not away at school, Francoise visited the villagers of Gezaincourt in their homes.
When she was twelve, Francoise moved to the Ursuline convent in Amiens, about thirty
kilometers from Gezaincourt, to complete her education.
Julie was raised in a small, thatched-roof cottage in the village of Cuvilly. In the
trichotomy of pre-revolutionary France. If secular education was seen as unnecessary,
however, religious education was seen as critical for the mass of young poor in pre-
revolutionary France.
How would you describe Julies attitudes towards her disabilities?
She didn’t seem to be affected by it, even though.
What the lessons this experiences lived by these two women hold for us today?
That it does not matter your social class or position in life, you can alway look after other people.
You are always in a position to support and help others.
